The book signing and candid discussion for aviation enthusiasts will take place at The Sherman Historical Society Old Store Museum Gift Shop located at 3 Route 37 Center,Sherman CT 06784 on Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 2pm-4pm.
John Cilio will autograph and discuss engaging excerpts from his new book, Portals into the Sky: A Collection of Vintage Cockpit Photographs. The 111 page 8 ½ x 11 paperback hosts an impressive collection of black and white photographs and associated documentation.
Opening this book’s cover lets a reader step back in time taking a photographic journey to see forgotten cockpits and learn about aviation in a different era. John’s large collection of vintage aviation press photographs and ongoing research have fueled an exciting glimpse into over 100 obscure or forgotten plane cockpits," stated Gloria Thorne, Curator at The Sherman Historical Society.
